Spring Break on a budget: Things to do around the area

Posted

When you think of spring break you probably think of the Caribbean or a trip to a sunny Florida beach, but for families on a budget that may not be an option. However, in Baltimore, you don't have to go far for family fun.

"We'll just stay in a hotel downtown in Baltimore and we play tourist in our own town.   My kids love it.  As long as you choose a place with a great pool."

Mia Redrick, our Mom Strategist says between the hotel stay, and maybe a trip to the Science Center and Port Discovery, you can create a great staycation.

If you're looking for more, how about a one tank trip.

"A great thing to do is visit Washington DC. There's so many incredible museums there, national museums and they are free."

If you're looking for some bright lights, and more action, the city that never sleeps is a cheap bus ride or a train trip away.

"Go to New York for the day.  Have a great time with the family.  There's lot to see.  Whether you decided to see a Broadway play or just walk around New York let's be clear there is so much to do in New York.  It's an experience in and of itself.  Our favorite thing to do in New York, my son loves the Lego store."

And when in doubt, we have our own beaches here.  It may not be 80 degrees, but any time of the year Ocean City is always a Maryland fan favorite!.
