Dunbar, St. Frances student athletes commit to universities to play football in college

BALTIMORE — Hundreds of high school athletes across the country will begin the next step in their lives.

It’s called National Signing Day, for D1 and D2 football athletes.

Dunbar High School and St. Frances Academy in East Baltimore held a signing day event Wednesday morning.

Three Dunbar athletes and nine from St. Frances committed to play football in college, across the country.

A few of the schools include, Glenville University, Clarion University, Towson University, Lincoln University, Kent State and Fairmont State.

"This is definitely a celebration seeing these guys sign with colleges. Its dreams come true today. It’s definitely of my favorite days of the year. It’s a culmination of all the hard work that they put in."

St. Frances' program has a total of 21 Division 1 and 2 signees and more than $5 million in scholarship money.
