BALTIMORE — A local energy company is helping Baltimore high school students get hands-on training for a career.
Baltimore City Schools CEO Dr. Sonja Santelises announced a new plumbing program coming to Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High School, best known as Mervo.
Students in the program will receive hands-on training and will have the opportunity to earn industry certification.
"We are really committed here in city schools to making sure all of our young people have what they need to be able to enter careers immediately or after additional training if necessary," said Dr. Sonja Santelises.
The program was created with a donation from BGE and it will be available next fall.
