BALTIMORE — The Baltimore City Affordable Housing Trust Fund held a virtual town hall this evening about when utility shutoffs and evictions could resume.
Right now $2 million is available to support the new construction of affordable housing.
Officials say the United Way Central Maryland Rental Assistance Eviction Prevention Program is fairly easy for just about everyone to apply to, but officials say the biggest issue with giving out these funds is landlords aren't willing to cooperate with guidelines.
Another issue many people have is not knowing their rights when it comes to assistance. Right now every Marylander that is behind on their utility bill is guaranteed a 12 month payment plan.
