BALTIMORE — Comcast is extending its offer of 60 days free internet service to new eligible customers of the Internet Essentials program.

Originally set to expire on June 30, the free offer will now be available through the end of 2020. Customers of the program are normally charged $9.95 plus tax per month.

During that time, Comcast says they will waive the requirement that customers not have a past due balance to qualify.

Since 2011, the program has connected more than two million low-income families to high speed internet with free access to digital skills training. Customers can also purchase a low-cost Internet-ready computer.
