MILLERSVILLE, Md. — Three new programs will start in Anne Arundel County to help residents rebound from the pandemic.

County Executive Steuart Pittman announced the COVID Care Coordination Program, COVID Recovery and Grief Support Program, and the Water Bill Relief Program Thursday.

The COVID Care Coordination Program includes wrap-around services for people who have tested positive, are quarantining, and have needs that need to be met. The COVID Recovery and Grief Support Program will give mental health help to those who have lost loved ones to the virus or have gotten the virus themselves. The Water Bill Relief Program will help those behind on their bill pay it to avoid losing their home.

"For eligible residents, this funding will help to prevent DPW from having to turn off water due to nonpayment,” said Department of Public Works Assistant Director Karen Henry. “It will also help to prevent tax sale of property for residents with unpaid water or wastewater bills."

The new programs aren’t the only ones for those affected by the pandemic. The county's Eviction Prevention Program is still operating, the food distribution system is growing, and business and childcare assistance is still available.
