BALTIMORE — A major conference for small colleges has decided to postpone all its sporting events for the fall 2020 semester.

The Centennial Conference, which includes McDaniel College and Johns Hopkins University made the announcement Tuesday, citing ongoing concerns with COVID-19.

Conference leaders will revisit the situation again in the spring, at which point they could consider moving some fall sports such as football to be played in the spring time.

McDaniel is one of several local colleges that have announced plans to allow the return of some students to campus for the fall semester.
