BALTIMORE — All 153 Giant Food store pharmacies on Tuesday began offering immunization vaccinations again.
Available preventive vaccinations include those that protect against pneumonia, shingles, tetanus, hepatitis, and HPV.
2020 flu shots will be available starting in August.
All vaccines are administered by Giant’s certified in-store pharmacists and require no appointment.
“Now it is more critical than ever for individuals to take preventative measures to protect themselves and their communities from sickness and staying up-to-date with recommended vaccines is an important first step,” says Paul Zvaleny, Giant Food’s Director of Pharmacy Operations. “After pausing non-urgent services in April, we are looking forward to offering vaccinations to our customers and continuing to do our part to keep our communities healthy while following social distancing guidelines and strict safety procedures.”
Giant says all of their pharmacies have implemented health and safety policies when administering immunizations, including social distancing, the wearing of face masks, shields, and gloves, along with increased disinfection procedures between patients.
