BALTIMORE — More than two months after admitting their first COVID-19 patient, Johns Hopkins Hospital recently discharged their 500th patient.
Chancey Carter was released from the hospital right after the 500th patient. As customary at most hospitals now when a COVID-19 survivor is discharged, Mr. Carter had his chance to celebrate with medical staff by ringing and hearing the sweet sound of the bell.
On Monday, the Maryland Department of Health reported COVID-19 rates had dropped 72.5% since its peak, with current hospitalizations now below 1,000.
