GLEN BURNIE, Md. — A local frontline worker won a free wedding dress thanks to David's Bridal.

Kaitlyn Borries is a nurse at GBMC and her fiance, Daniel Jenkins, is a Baltimore City Police officer.

The couple have scheduled their wedding for June 15, 2021.

But since both have been working long shifts on the front lines during the COVID-19 pandemic, it's been hard to plan everything out.

Kaitlyn's mother, Kimberly, heard about the Frontline Fierce Dress contest David's Bridal was having on social media.

Family and friends were asked to nominate a woman they know working on the front lines, for a chance to win a dress.

Though Kaitlyn was already scheduled to look at dresses at David's Glen Burnie location on July 25, mom decided to take a chance and nominate her daughter anyway.

And much to their surprise, she won! Kaitlyn was one of 50 lucky winners, David's chose weekly throughout the two month contest.

Now since the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing, Kaitlyn is only allowed to have two people inside the store when she picks out her new free dress.

So the family has gotten a little creative, and says the rest of the group will set up chairs outside while Kaitlyn tries on dresses.

We here at WMAR-2 News would like to congratulate the soon to be married couple, and thank them for their work on the front lines during such trying times.
