Rebounding with thanks stuffing and turkey.
Volunteers are making sure those in need can still have a good Thanksgiving.
Today the Maryland Food Bank hosted 'Pack to Give Back.'
Volunteer teams outside of the Food Bank’s Baltimore facility packed thousands of Thanksgiving meal boxes for those who are having trouble putting food on the table.
The food banks president says since the pandemic began there's been a surge in need in our state and he expects that surge to continue well past the holidays.
"We've doubled the amount of food that we distributed over the last five months, and frankly we don't see that need subsiding in any way, shape, or form. We think we're going to be dealing with this heightened sense and need for an extended period of time, well beyond a vaccine, and we just want to make sure we're doing everything we can to be positioned for that."
More than 25,000 boxes each enough to feed a family of four will be donated to soup kitchens, pantries and shelters throughout the state.
