Behind the Iron Man's iron gates in Reisterstown is part of Maryland history. And it could be your next home.

"The property is going to sell to the highest bidder," said DeCaro Auctions International Business Development Director Wendy Oliver.

The estate of Orioles legend Cal Ripken Jr. will be sold at absolute auction on Saturday, May 12.

It's 24.3 acres and almost 21,890 square feet of luxury living.

All up for bid.

Ripken originally put the home on the market in September of 2016 for $12.5 million. He dropped the price to under $10 million eight months later before taking it off the market.  It was custom built in 1987 and renovated in the 1990's. On Saturday it will have a new owner.

"It's an incredible piece of history. It's Baltimore history," added Oliver. "We're going to continue that history bringing the auction in."

The house has six bedrooms, 10 full bathrooms, five half-baths and garage space for eight cars.

In the mood for a flick? Just head to the movie theater.

Want to take a dip?  Take a stroll outside to the pool.

And you know Cal had to get his swings in.  The indoor batting cage sits right next to the private locker room.  Above that is the 7,000 square foot gym.

Everybody knows after baseball Cal's second love is basketball. When you get his house, you get his full-sized basketball court too.

So what do you need to bid?

"You'll need a $100,000 check made out to yourself. You'll need a personal check to make out for the 10% deposit. There's no minimum opening bid. There's no reserve. It sells to the highest bidder on Saturday," said DeCaro Auctions International President/Auctioneer Daniel DeCaro.

If you're the lucky one on Saturday you can invite some friends over to have a catch on your own regulation baseball field, your own personal field of dreams.

We all know if you build it they will come. Well, if you put it up for auction, they're going to come too.
