WASHINGTON (WMAR) — The XFL's DC Defenders have waived Former Baltimore Ravens first-round draft pick Matt Elam.
In four XFL games, Elam posted 12 tackles. The Defenders had an even record of 2-2 with Elam on the team.
Baltimore selected Elam 32nd overall in the 2013 draft out of the University of Florida.
He played safety with Baltimore from 2013 to 2016, recording 131 tackles, a forced fumble, and an interception.
The Ravens released Elam before the 2017 season after he was arrested for a second time. Charges were eventually dropped in both cases.
