Across the state and country the world of athletics has been shaken by the coronavirus.
In Maryland, Maryland Athletics will be canceling all international recruiting activities, out-of-season competitions and travel and all out-of-season practices during the week of March 23.
They have also a number of safety measures for home events.
The Major Arena Soccer League has canceled the rest of their season.
The NCAA has canceled the 2020 men's and women's basketball tournaments and remaining winter and spring championships.

In accordance with guidance from University System of Maryland and public health leaders working to limit the spread of COVID-19, UMBC Athletics’ varsity teams will not participate in intercollegiate competitions or practices for the entirety of the spring 2020 semester.
Retriever Athletics will also postpone the 2020 Hall of Fame Inductions, scheduled for April 10, 2020. The event will be rescheduled as a featured part of the 2020-21 athletics’ calendar.
The Patriot League Council of Presidents announced this morning it has made the difficult decision to cancel all spring athletics practices and competitions through the remainder of the academic year. That decision will be effective Monday, March 16.

After an in-person meeting with MLBPA officials in Arizona, Major League Baseball announced on Friday that Spring Training camps will be suspended, effective immediately.
