BALTIMORE — The Mervo Mustangs and Dunbar Poets are both moving on in the high school football state playoffs.
In the Class 3A state quarterfinals Mervo defeated Westminster by the final of 16-6. Mervo remains undefeated. The Mustangs trailed 6-0 at halftime. It was the first time they had trailed all season. Mervo will face Linganore in the state semifinals.
In the Class 1A state quarterfinal Dunbar rolled past Perryville, 38-0. The Poets advance to their sixth consecutive state semifinal appearance.
Dunbar will play Cambridge-SD in the state semifinals.
