COLLEGE PARK, Md. — It’s been almost a month since men's college basketball preseason practices began.

Programs have 42 days to hold up to 30 practices, with the season set to begin on November 25th.

The original start date was November 10th, but the coronavirus pushed it back.

The schedule will look different this season because of it.

No exhibitions or scrimmages will be played.

A council recommended a minimum of four non-conference games and teams will play no more than 27 regular season games.

The Terps had their own COVID scare a couple of months ago, but head coach Mark Turgeon said he's confident they'll do everything they can to make sure coaches and players are healthy and safe.

"We're going to follow the protocol and hopefully god blesses us and gives us the chance to stay healthy. Will it be a perfect season for everyone? Probably not. But the excitement and just the mental health part of it, having the chance to do it has been great for everybody."

The Big 10 hasn't released the men's basketball schedule at the moment.
