So much for a home court advantage.

The Maryland Terrapins bowed out in the Big Ten Conference quarterfinals Friday night with a 72-64 loss to Northwestern.

The Terps held a 44-34 lead at the 16:25 mark of the second half before the Wildcats went on a 20-2 run to take control.

Melo Trimble led the Terps with 20 points.  Kevin Huerter scored 19 points.

Scottie Lindsey and Vic Law both had 17 points for Northwestern, who advances to play Wisconsin in Saturday's semifinal.  This was the first time the Terps saw Lindsey this season.  He didn't play (mononucleosis) when visiting Maryland beat the Wildcats in February.

Maryland now waits until Sunday night to find out its NCAA Tournament fate.

The Big Ten Tournament is being played at Verizon Center.

The Terps came into the tourney seeded third.  The Wildcats are the six seed.
