July 2016 was the hottest says NOAA

For the 15th month in a row, the Earth broke a temperature record according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, or NOAA.

July 2016 was the hottest July — and for that matter, the hottest month ever — the planet has experienced since NOAA began taking records in 1880. It is typically the hottest month of the year anyway.

July's global average temperature was 1.57 degrees Fahrenheit warmer than the 20th century average.

It was also the 40th consecutive July with above average temperatures, and the last time temperature dipped below the average was in December 1984.

Although the last 15 months have broken records, there are signs the record breaking warmth could be coming to an end since this month's record was broken by a smaller margin.
