It's hard to get your mind around everything that is going on with the coronavirus, or COVID-19. I work in the news and talk about it everyday and I often have to take a step back to process it all and understand the magnitude of the impact this virus is having on our lives now and down the road.
One positive to come out of all this is watching communities coming together to support one another. I've seen that kindness and compassion the most from the restaurant industry.
Quick recap: Governor Hogan has ordered all bars, restaurants, wineries and breweries to close until further notice. Take-out, delivery and curbside pick up is ok. Restaurants are also allowed to do carry-out and delivery sales for alcohol.
Many restaurants, bars, etc. have redesigned their business models to provide on-the-go meals so they don't have to fully close and can at least keep some of their workers employed.
Here are some links to find out if your favorite place to eat is offering take-out, delivery, curbside, etc. and if they're using food delivery apps like GrubHub or DoorDash. We've also included wineries, breweries and distilleries in this list. If you know if any other links I missed, please email me at megan.knight@wmar.com and I'll be sure to add it quickly.
