A West Baltimore parade and the Hanover Street Bridge repair work to cause weekend traffic jam

BALTIMORE — City Transportation officials are warning drivers about weekend road closures and traffic modifications.

Starting Friday night at 8:00 p.m., the Hanover Street Bridge/Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge will temporarily close for maintenance work. The bridge will remain closed until October 28, at 5 a.m.

According to the department, a crane lift operation will shutdown a portion President Street going Southbound on Saturday, October 26, from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Also, on Saturday, the Tank Davis Parade will cause traffic modification in West Baltimore from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and light street work will temporarily close lanes along the northbound Jones Falls Expressway between Madison Street and Coldspring Lane from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. The Jones Falls Expressway will be closed at that time.

DOT said a portion of Harford Road, between Hamilton and White Avenues from 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. will shutdown for the Downhill Derby event.
