You'd have to be living on Venus to NOT realize how warm this Winter has been. Meteorological Winter (Dec-Feb) has officially come to an end and it has been very interesting. The coldest morning (wind chill not included here) occurred several times, when the thermometer dropped to 19°. The warmest afternoon-- January 11th reached a very spring-like 72°. Numerous afternoons reached the 60s this winter-- so its no wonder that this year ranks as the 6th warmest record in Baltimore. The coldest afternoon temperatures recorded was 33°, which also broke a record.
Temperatures will remain above average for the next couple of days...but we are entering a cooling phase, where afternoon highs will be dropping through the weekend. The coldest afternoon will be Saturday, where temperatures will hang out in the mid 40s. Thankfully, we will rebound nicely on Sunday, and by Monday temperatures will return to the lower 60s.
