WASHINGTON — Residents in Maryland rank among the highest in the nation in getting the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to a newly released CDC report.
The numbers were accumulated from people who received the second dose between December 14, 2020 and February 14, 2021.
They were categorized into four groups by when they received their second dose: 1) before the recommended interval, 2) during the recommended interval, 3) after the recommended interval but within the allowable interval, 4) outside the allowable interval.

Now here's how the numbers in the report lineup overall nationwide.
88.0% of people getting a first dose have completed the series once sufficient time had elapsed to get the second dose.
8.6% had not received the second dose but were still within the allowable interval to receive it.
95.6% of all 2-dose recipients received the second dose within the recommended interval.
As of Wednesday -- 672,922 Maryland residents have received a second dose equaling 11.131 percent of the state's population. Another 52,288 have received the one dose Johnson & Johnson shot.
