SALISBURY, Md. — Governor Larry Hogan on Friday made the rounds along the Eastern Shore.
He split time at the state’s fifth mass vaccination site at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center in Salisbury and visiting Showell Elementary School in Worcester County.
The civic center will start with 500 daily vaccinations, before increasing to 2,000 over the course of the next week.
A sixth mass vaccination site is set to open on March 25, in Hagerstown.
Hogan's visit to the school comes more than two weeks after most systems returned to some form of in-person learning.
The CDC on Friday, also recommended students be separated by only three feet as opposed to six, as long as they are wearing masks.
Hogan capped his day off with a visit to Apple Discount Drugs in Salisbury, one of the nearly 300 pharmacies participating in Maryland’s statewide vaccination campaign.
Earlier in the day, the governor announced that EPIC Pharmacies, a group of independently-owned Maryland pharmacies, have joined the state’s vaccine distribution network.
