Small vaccine sites seeing success

Vaccination sites are up and running in Maryland and still people have spent big chunks of time searching websites for an appointment.

Kathleen Loukides missed an appointment because of the snow, so when a spot opened up at the vaccination clinic at Live! Casino and Hotel Maryland, she said deal me in.

"It means so much. I have a father who is high risk, he had a bone marrow transplant 13 years ago, he's doing well but at the same time I can't risk him getting sick. So I've been trying to stay away from him. I miss him terrible."

The clinic has been set up for about a month, it runs Monday thru Friday 8 to 4. With giving about 100 shots an hour, they have his down to a science.

At the casino, they are used to handling big crowds and some of the people coming here, well, they're taking advantage of the situation as well.

Bill Woodfield has been to the casino before, but this time he was sitting across from a nurse not a dealer. He doesn't mind taking his chances with the casino but, this COVID virus...he's not up for the risk.

As Bill takes risks with his wallet, others here are doubling down on getting on with their lives. They have given about 6500 doses so far.
