The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is taking steps to treat and protect veterans from the Coronavirus.

The VA activated its emergency management coordination cell (EMCC). No veterans getting care through the VA have been diagnosed with COVID-19, but the VA has been planning for this type of event and is prepared to protect and care for those veterans who get treated through the VA.

Any veteran who is feeling ill is encouraged to use VA Video Connect. This allows veterans to connect with VA healthcare professionals over video conferencing to determine if they need to be seen by a doctor or can be treated other ways.

According to the CDC symptoms have ranged from mild to severe and include fever, cough and shortness of breath.
