BEL AIR, Md. — WMAR-2 News is committed to improving the lives of Veterans in Maryland by giving light to their stories, struggles and triumphs. Every week a local veteran will be featured in our Veteran Spotlight contest.
This week we are honoring Bill McGee of Bel Air, who spent 12 years in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant.
He began his service at Language School in Monterrey, California and was stationed in Panama, Fort Lewis Washington, the Republic of Korea and Northern Thailand throughout his career.
McGee later made the move to Aberdeen to join the two oh third meye battalion and deployed with them to Iraq. His unit was responsible for training service members in foreign military equipment operations and driving Russian-made tanks and armored personnel carriers.
After the army, he became a contractor for the Navy and now works for the Federal Bureau of Investigation as an Intelligence Analyst.
McGee comes from a military family. His father and two brothers served in the Army and Air Force and his son is a Navy veteran. He is especially thankful for the support of his wife, Kimberly, of thirty years and their son.
Thank you for your service and sacrifice.
