April was a bit of a roller coaster ride-- but now that the month is over, we can dive into the numbers. When looking at the afternoon highs, the scales were tipped in the favor of unseasonably cool temperatures as almost two thirds of the month clocked afternoon highs that were below the seasonal average. Matter of fact, we came close to breaking the morning low record on April 17th. Only 11 days were warmer than average, with only 7 afternoons warming into the 70s!
When the final tally was counted, we picked up just over 5 and half inches of rain last month, which was more than 2 inches above average! If there's any justice there will be plenty of flowers this May! (April showers bring May flowers :)) All jokes aside, with the additional rainfall on April 30th, we went from 28th wettest April, down to 14th! All of this rain has us at a surplus for the year. More rain opportunities await us in May!
