I'm an 80s baby.... so my sense of humor is a little off :)... #bringit
I don't have to tell you that it's been cold.
But I will.
Climatologically, temperatures should climb into the 40s each afternoon this month. Not only has that not been the case, but we've spent more days below the seasonal average this month, than above it. We only climbed to or above the 40° mark 8 days this month; meanwhile the mercury maxed out in the 30s 11 times this month! Unfortunately, there won't be much of a change over the next couple of days.Win
Winds will be out of the northwest Saturday-- so temperatures will hang out in the 30s again. On top of that, it will be a bit breezy at times, with winds occasionally gusting above 30mph--which means we'll be talking frigid wind chills.
It will feel roughly 10 degrees cooler than the actually temperatures Saturday thanks to the elevated winds. Afternoon highs barely climb to freezing, so our maximum wind chill will be in the lower 20s. The heavy coats, gloves, scarves, and snow boots (because the snow isn't going ANYWHERE, lol) need to remain on deck.
A slight improvement Sunday-- thanks to relaxed winds, but we will remain unseasonably cold through the beginning of the week. Looks like we have a shot of rain and wintry mix on Monday, but as for now-- this looks to be more of a rain event than wintry mix. If the timing of the system changes that could make the difference of whether we see just rain or if some folks pick up a little sleet/freezing rain. Stick with us this weekend as we keep you updated online and on air.
