A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued in the Baltimore area Thursday.
Baltimore City, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Calvert, Caroline, Cecil, Harford, Howard, Kent, Montgomery, Talbot and Queen Anne's counties are under the advisory until 5 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm watch means thunderstorms are possible in the area and locals should be ready to take action if a warning is issued.
