BALTIMORE — Our 2nd full moon of the Autumn season looks to illuminate the skies this weekend ahead. The Hunter's Moon is the moon that signifies the start of the hunting season and the moon that follows Autumnal Equinox. It's also the one of our full moons that rises close to sunset hence a bit of an orange tint.

Friday Night- Moonrise: 6:00pm
Saturday Night-Moonrise: 6:25pm
Sunday Night-Moonrise: 6:51pm

With moonrise so close to the sunset the orange tint will likely to occur as sunlight remains abundant on the low horizon. Like all full moons this one will appear large on the horizon and bright making for beautiful pictures with trees, buildings, and other landmarks in the distant.

Viewing conditions look excellent not only tonight but Friday and Sunday when the moon turns full. Saturday brings some extra cloud cover which could impact the view a bit as a weak frontal boundary moves on through. Happy viewing and if you see the orange tint let us know with a "Moontastic" photograph.
