Once again another soggy Friday night and start to the weekend to talk about in Central Maryland. You would've thought that we could have turned a new leaf on this super soaking weather pattern but "Mother Nature" says not so fast as low pressure marches our way.
Rain looks to overspread the area Friday evening and pick up in intensity during the overnight hours. The heaviest of the rain should be early Saturday morning into midday before a tapering to showers in the late afternoon.
Another .5-1" of rain is expected as we head into the weekend making this the third consecutive weekend out of the last five weekends with measurable rain. Localized flooding could be a concern since the ground remains saturated from the recent 1"+ of rain on New Year's Eve Day.
Luckily for us this storm system is a quick mover and should be out of here by late Saturday afternoon into the early evening hours. Behind the storm system though will come the wind as the pressure gradient tightens late Saturday into the day Sunday. Winds will gusts 20-30 mph during that time frame possibly affecting the kicking game for the Ravens Playoff Game Sunday afternoon.
Even with the wind "Playoff Perfection will be underway for Ravens v. Charges as temperatures climb into the 50s with tons of sunshine. Our next chance for rain arrives early next week with temperatures likely to stay above average. Many locations by Tuesday could once again be near 60 degrees. What a start to 2019!!
