BALTIMORE-A powerful cold front continues to blast toward the area this evening with several rounds of showers and thunderstorms. The bulk of the energy is west but storms do look to become strong based upon lift from the front as well as warm moist air out ahead of the boundary. For that reason the Storm Prediction Center has put our area underneath an MARGINAL Risk for severe weather until the front passes before midnight into early Thursday morning.

The primary threats of strong damaging winds remains for all areas through this evening. An isolated tornado also cannot be ruled out south of US-50 based upon the extra spin above. Timing for the storms still sits between 9pm tonight-12am Thursday as the front moves in from the west. We have a few scattered showers and storms out ahead of the main line which could interject in the severity of the main line as it comes through. The severe threat will wane quickly early Thursday morning with temperatures falling into the 30s. Wind will be an issue throughout your Thursday and Friday with gusts around 30-40 mph.
