Have you noticed?
We have been stuck in a rut when it comes to perfect weather on the weekends. Since the end of January we have had 4 straight weekends with at least one day featuring rain or snow. This weekend won't be any different with pockets of rain and fog marching through the area. Another 1/2" to 1" of rainfall is expected between now and Sunday evening which should throw us over 5" of rain for the month of February and put us in the top 10 when it comes to the wettest February's on record at BWI Thurgood Marshall. The heaviest of that rain will be late Saturday into Sunday. We can't even rule out a thunderstorm by Sunday afternoon with high temperatures climbing toward 70 degrees.
So will we catch a break anytime soon?
Unfortunately the answer to that question looks to be no at least for next weekend ahead. Models continue to hint at a system worth watching for Friday and possibly lingering into Saturday. This storm system will bring a chance at heavy rainfall once again with the possibility of snow as Winter looks to return. Remember though this forecast is over 7 days out and a lot can change between then. Hopefully we can break this streak of nasty weekend weather soon especially with the thoughts of Spring on the horizon.
