The Weather Department "APPROVES THIS MESSAGE" and hopefully you too since it's much needed relief to see that giant orange ball in the sky "EVERYWHERE".
Finally a dry weekend out there with low humidity and tons of sunshine. Most locations if not all in Central Maryland and the Eastern Shore will not see a drop of rain over the next 2 days ahead. It's hard to believe after a record breaking July of 16.40" with 3 more days of the month to go if you count today (July 28.2018).
High pressure takes the wheel today keeping most locations from Central Maryland points west dry while our powerful cold front that produced 75 severe weather reports across the area Friday (July 27, 2018) stalls just off the coast. Spotty showers and storms are still likely down at the beach but once again the emphasis is on drier weather and low humidity.
Unfortunately the weather pattern looks to go downhill once again next week with increased chances of thunderstorms along with additional flooding concerns. This go around though models do not foresee the type of rain that we picked up over the last few weeks but at this point it will not take much to create high water concerns.
So let's enjoy the dry times for now. Put away those umbrellas and throw on the sunglasses before things chance as early as next week.
