So I guess we can't blame Phil The Groundhog or Western Maryland Murray's prediction for 6 more weeks of Winter since it really hasn't applied us. Limited snowfall and over 10 days in the 60s and 70s from the end of January through now. There's always March though which can have it's fair share of weather woes.
What a remarkable stretch of weather in Central Maryland these past few week's. We go from one extreme to the other with 2" of snow to near record breaking warmth with highs near 80 this week ahead. In fact the temperatures we will see this Tuesday and Wednesday will resemble something typical of late April or even early May.
While the temperatures leap toward Spring , we actually have another three weeks to go until we actually get there. We officially turn the clocks forward one hour on march 11th at 2:00am . The extra hour of sleep disappears with the return of extra daylight to do more outdoors. As always this is a great time to change those batteries in those smoke alarms and carbon dioxide detectors while flipping at least those manual clocks (car, microwave, alarm clock, etc..) ahead one hour.
Speaking of extra daylight on March 11th, the sun will set at 7:09pm and rise at 7:22am March 12th. The downside of this is that it will be darker during those early morning hours as we head off to work and school compared to what we have been use to over the long winter months. Still by this point we roughly have twelve hours of daylight which is a step in the right direction for those dreaming of Spring.
