Heat Wave In The Making

Posted
and last updated

High heat and humidity are on tap starting today. Highs will be in the low to mid 90s over the next 4 days, so a heat wave will be in full effect.

Not only are we preparing for a heat wave but a Code Orange is in effect for today. A Code Orange means that the air is unhealthy for for sensitive groups. If you are elderly, a child, have asthma, other lung disease or heart disease, you may want to limit your outdoor exposure.

There is the possibility of a brief respite from the heat if a thunderstorm pops up in the afternoons but the real break from the heat and humidity will happen after a cool front moves through Saturday night.  Sunday will be pleasant with lower humidity and seasonal temperatures.

It is summer and the 3 Hs: Heat, Humidity and Haze are here to make you not forget what season it is!

Remember, stay cool, seek shade, take plenty of water breaks and don't leave children and/or pets in a vehicle.

Stay Safe!
