Monday doesn't seem like a summer day. The sunshine won't be around, it is a horrible day for the pool, and not many are craving ice cream. Cloudy, gray skies will be in place leading to afternoon showers, heavy evening rain, and even more light precipitation Tuesday. Rainfall totals will range from 1-2" where Western Maryland will pick up the heaviest amounts.
The rain should start around noon, but become more widespread around 4PM. There is only a slight chance of any thunder, it is mostly just a good old soaking (you know the kind your dog hates to go for a walk in).
Along with the rain, we are saying good bye 80s and welcoming the 70s to town. Temps fall below the average 83 degrees. In fact, the last time we were in the 70s was 2 weeks ago on August 16. So it isn't that unusual, but it shocks the system when we have been having perfect frisbee playing weather.
While the cool air and rain last Monday and Tuesday, a warm front arrives Wednesday driving temps back to the mid 80s. But, there is still a rain chance. In fact according to the climate prediction center, the chance of rain is 40% higher than normal for the following week. Do they make dog rain boots, because now might be a good time for that?
