Nashville was in the path of a deadly tornado overnight. That same storm system continues to push east and is headed our way this afternoon/evening.
A cold front will approach from the west today and traverse the area tonight. Ahead of the front, temps will warm into the low 60s, possibly higher if the sunshine sticks around. With that said, lets hope the sunshine takes a back seat today because if it doesn't not only will the temps soar but it will lead to instability, which in turn will aid in the chance for severe weather.
The SPC (Storm Prediction Center) has most of Central Maryland in a marginal risk for severe weather today. If severe weather comes to fruition, the primary threats are damaging wind gusts but an isolated tornado can't be ruled out.
Showers are possible late this morning into the early afternoon before a line of strong to severe storms moves in just in time for the evening commute.
It will be much drier and breezy behind the front as high pressures begins to build in Wednesday and Thursday.
Stay tuned!
