Not as hot and humid today but just wait until Thursday. The heat and humidity will return in full swing across the Mid-Atlantic region as winds veer out of the west Thursday afternoon. This allows drier and warmer air to be advected into our area due to down-sloping winds.
The 90s make a comeback Thursday! Temperatures will top out about 10 degrees above average, in the mid-90s by the mid to late-afternoon hours. If you are going to be outside for an extended period of time Thursday, take frequent breaks and stay hydrated. Staying indoors is the best option!
Dew point values over the next three days will range in the low to mid-70s, making it feel very uncomfortable. Thursday is expected to be the warmest day of the week. But, when will we feel relief from the humidity?
We will start to feel relief from the humidity on Sunday as cooler air works in from Canada. You will definitely be able to tell the difference between Saturday (94°) and Sunday (81°). The humidity looks to stay in check into early next week. Before that, we will be dealing with heat indices in the lower-100s, especially near the bay Thursday and Friday.
