"LOW END SEVERE WEATHER RISK"
Unfortunately all good things have to come to an end including our perfect stretch of weather. Showers and thunderstorms along with the threat for severe weather will return to the forecast come Thursday afternoon. A weak cold frontal boundary back to our west combined with a little heat will provide us with the perfect battleground for your typical Spring time storms.
For that reason the Storm Prediction Center has placed the area under a "Marginal Risk" which simply means that we could have a few storms reach severe limits. On a scale of 1 to 5 we are running about a 1 for severe weather activity. This will not be a widespread event nor one to take lightly though as we enter severe weather season here in Maryland.
TIMING & THREATS
The line of storms looks to arrive by mid to late afternoon. The best window to plan around would be 2-8pm for showers and storms.
Gusty winds and hail are the biggest threats overall. The best bet for these threats would be north and west of the city where the environment is more favorable for storms. Storms look to exit the area by early Thursday evening.
