We are keeping a very close eye on the tropics. Per the 11 AM update from the National Hurricane Center, Tropical Depression Eleven is traveling west at 14 mph with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph.
This depression will likely continue on a westerly track throughout the day before eventually shifting and taking a turn more west-northwest later tonight. Tropical Depression Eleven is expected to become Tropical Storm Josephine later today and gradual strengthening is expected during the next couple of days. There are some indications that this system will have to fight off some wind shear Friday into Saturday, so this may help weaken it.
