Warmth, Cold, Rain, Snow, Sleet, Freezing Rain? We Got It!

Posted

Over the course of the next 7 days, Dizzy spells are not out of the question as we will go from spring-like temps back to winter then back to spring-like temperatures. Over the next several days we see everything from rain, snow, sleet and possibly even freezing rain.

High temperatures today are forecasted to head near 70 degrees. Friday will start with some much needed rain. Temperatures will begin to drop off on Friday afternoon with highs in the low 60s but temps will really drop like a rock Friday evening as a front moves through and gusty NW winds send temperatures below freezing by midnight or shortly thereafter.

By Saturday, Highs will only be in the mid 30s. It will be cold enough to support a wintry mix starting midday/afternoon and wrapping up late Saturday. The precipitation may start out as snow or snow/sleet mix from SE to NW then change to rain/sleet mix and possible freezing rain.

With the warm temperatures yesterday, today and  tomorrow, it may hamper the snow accumulations. Also, the sleet and rain mixing in will also cut down on snow totals. There are still a lot of moving parts with this system, so we will keep you posted on the forecasted snow totals.

Freezing rain may lead to slippery travel on Saturday but this all depends on ground temperatures. Temps start trending back up on Sunday. By mid-week temps will be close to 70 again. WOW...who's dizzy?

33 days until spring....stay tuned!
