What month is it?? It is September and the high temp should be in the the low 80s but that was not the case for the first day of school.
The first day of school was actually not the first day for some students. A heat advisory went into effect due to the high heat and humidity. Kids were kept at home for the first day of school because of the lack of air conditioning in some schools. Highs are forecasted to be in the low to mid 90s over the next 3 days but the humidity will make it feel like 98-105 degrees.
The heat wave will finally break by the end of the week as a front will move through accompanied by showers and storms. High temperatures will drop into the mid 80s. By the weekend, we will experience a taste of fall with temperatures cooling off even more....get ready for highs in the low 70s!
Summer is not officially over until September 22nd, so stay tuned for a roller coaster ride as we make the transition into autumn.
