Welcomed relief arrives for the weekend

An early taste of Fall this weekend ahead...

It's the weekend and the weather can't get any better than this. Welcomed relief from the heat provides the perfect back drop for an opening week of high school football as well as the Maryland State Fair. Our beach and mountain forecast not too bad either as many locations approach highs around 80 during the afternoon hours with overnight lows dipping back into the upper 50s and low to mid 60s for refreshing comfort. With all that said some folks may need a sweatshirt early Saturday and Sunday morning.

The cool weather pattern continues into Monday and Tuesday as high pressure slowly starts to break down. At the same time an active flow of tropical moisture will roll up the coast from a potentially named storms system increasing the cloud coverage on both days. As of now it looks like we will see an indirect impact in the form of those clouds and a few showers Monday and Tuesday before a strong front boundary rolls in midweek.

The front will bring a renewed chance for showers and storms Wednesday with slow clearing Thursday week. Humidity and heat will also return also during this time as another area of high pressure builds in as we round out August and head into September. Summer isn't done yet as the 8-14 day trends suggest warmer and wetter than average conditions during the period.

If you are headed to the Maryland State Fair, Maryland beaches, or Maryland Mountains plan accordingly for cool morning along with warm afternoon. Conditions look great from Baltimore points west into the mountains through the weekend. At the coast a few extra clouds will be likely along with a passing shower Monday.

Enjoy this weather while it last as the unofficial end to Summer lies in the distance for the weekend. ahead.
