BALTIMORE — Howard Bank surprised their employees with a total of $12,000 to spend towards food at local restaurants and grocery stores in an effort to support local businesses in the Baltimore region.
The bank gave each of their 240 employees and extra $50 towards buying food locally.
“First and foremost, we are focused on our employees’ and customers’ health both physically, and emotionally. Our colleagues have put in incredible hours to service their clients and it’s time for us to serve them. But, now more than ever these businesses in our region need our support,” said Mary Ann Scully, Chairman and CEO of the bank. “Dinner on Us is a gesture that shows we care about our employees in a way that also supports the local businesses that have kept our economy moving during better times.”
Earlier in April, they announced they were committing more than $100,000 to organizations in the Greater Baltimore area as part of COVID-19 relief efforts.
