BALTIMORE — Barton Brands of Maryland, a distilled spirits bottling plant located near BWI, is giving away both hand sanitizer and high proof alcohol to first responders and others in the essential industries.

The high proof alcohol is not a hand sanitizer in its current form, but it can be made into a sanitizer. Instructions for mixing are included with each case of high proof alcohol.

Beginning on April 14, Barton Brands of Maryland will donate one case of its Club 190, 189 proof grain alcohol or one case of hand sanitizer to any of the following approved businesses/nonprofits:

  • First responders
  • Government agencies
  • 501 c3 charitable entity
  • Health care

In order to be considered, the above organizations will apply through this online form for Club 190 high proof grain alcohol or through this form for hand sanitizer.

Once approved, a confirmation email will be sent when the product is ready for pick up. It is important to note, for state law reasons at this time, only individuals and organizations based in Maryland and Washington DC will be offered the case of Club 190 alcohol.

If an individual/organization is approved, the confirmation email will include pickup instructions at Barton Brands of Maryland’s facility beginning April 14, Monday thru Thursday from 9 am to 4 pm.

Pick-ups will be self-service to minimize person to person interaction. A copy of their Tax-ID number or confirmation email along with photo ID will be required for pickup, and individuals picking up the Club 190 must be 21 years of age or older.

Club 190 is not a hand sanitizer. It is a high proof potable spirit which can be used on non-porous surfaces for eliminating pathogens.

Instructions on the proper mixture will be included with each case of Club 190.
