ANNAPOLIS, Md. — There was a big 90th birthday celebration in Annapolis today!
Friends, family and neighbors held a surprise drive-and-walk by birthday celebration for Fred Taylor. His wife of 65 years started planning his birthday party last year, but had to cancel due to stay at home restrictions.
"Some of these people they came from Frederick and they came from Germantown and they came from all over the place."
Late last year Fred traveled to Cuba and when he returned he developed a bad cough which turned into bronchitis and eventually turned into bi-lateral pneumonia.
He was admitted to the hospital on his wife's birthday and spent almost two weeks in the ICU in serious condition. He was discharged in February, but was readmitted at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
His family says many thought he had the virus.
He was tested twice and both came back negative! Fred says he's going for 100!
