BALTIMORE — Officials with the State Board of Public Works will discuss the Baltimore Central Booking Center's regularly failing fire alarm.

State officials are looking to have it replaced and will discuss the options at their meeting Wednesday.

The Board of Public Works is considering awarding a company called Koffel Associates in Columbia $63,000 to work on a new system.

Officials say the current system is inadequate in protecting the facility.
