Xavier Wherry arrived at WMAR-2 News in February 2024. Before coming to Baltimore, he was a reporter/anchor in his hometown of Huntsville, Alabama at WAAY-TV.
During his time at WAAY-TV, Xavier reported on news, but his passion was sports. He covered college and high school sports whenever the opportunity presented itself.
Xavier once lived in Arlington, Virginia for 3 years after graduating from the University of North Alabama in 2018. While living in Arlington, Xavier worked for DMVSports1.com, covering the Wizards, college football, and high school football.
Xavier is thrilled to return to the region and is excited to engage with the passionate sports fans in Baltimore.
In his spare time, Xavier is usually lifting weights and playing basketball with friends. He loves the NBA and his favorite team to watch is the Golden State Warriors.
